The aim of HSIE is to develop in students the values and attitudes, skills and knowledge and understandings that:
The outcomes for Stage 2 students in HSIE are;
the student will:
- enhance their sense of personal, community, national and global identity,
- enable them tp participate effectively in maintaining and improving the quality of their society and environment.
The outcomes for Stage 2 students in HSIE are;
the student will:
- describe events related to the British colonisation of Australia and assess the changes and consequences (CC2.1)
- explain changes in the community and family life and evaluate the effects of these on different individuals, groups and environments. (CCS2.2)
- explains how shared customs, practices, symbols, languages and traditions in communities contribute to Australian and community identities. (CUS2.3)
- describe different points of view, ways of living, languages and belief system in a variety of communities (CUS2.4)
- describe people's interactions with environments and identify responsible ways of interacting with environments (ENS2.5)
- describes people's interactions with environments and identifies responsible ways of interacting with environments. (ENS2.6)
- describes how and why people and technologies interact to meet needs and explains the effects of these interactions on people and the environment. (SSS2.7)
- investigate the rights, responsibilities and decision-making processes in a school and community, and demonstrate how participation can contribute to the quality of their school and community life ((SSS2.8)
